About CargoTrackHub

CargoTrackHub is a free directory of shipment tracking pages. You paste a container number, a bill of lading number, or an air waybill number. We work out which carrier it belongs to and open that carrier’s own tracking page. There is no account and no sign-up.

What it does, and what it doesn’t

We send you to the carrier. We do not track the shipment ourselves. CargoTrackHub never shows you a vessel position, an arrival estimate, or a status. Those come from the carrier’s own website, which is the only place with the real answer. We never fetch, show, or store carrier tracking data.

What we add is the finding. Shipping numbers come in many formats, and every carrier keeps its tracking on a different page. We read the number, suggest the carrier (you can change the match by hand), and open the right page in a new tab.

Carriers differ in how much they allow. Today, 119 of the 491 carriers we list accept your number in the link, so their page opens with it filled in. The other 372 only allow us to open their tracking page, because of captchas, forms, or logins. For those you paste the number there yourself. Each carrier’s page on CargoTrackHub says which one to expect before you click.

Who runs it

CargoTrackHub is a collection of public tracking pages. Every shipping line, airline, and freight carrier already publishes its own tracking page — we gather them in one place and send you to the right one.

It was made by a family of importers. We track our own containers and air shipments, and we got tired of working out which carrier a number belongs to and hunting for that carrier’s tracking page every time. We built the tool for ourselves first, and have now made it free and public for anyone who needs the same thing.

CargoTrackHub is small and independent. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any shipping line, airline, or freight forwarder. Carrier names and trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to help you find the right tracking service.

How the carrier list is built and kept up to date

The list is a plain data file for each type of number. It currently has 174 container carriers, 76 bill of lading carriers, and 241 air cargo carriers. Each entry records the carrier’s name, the number prefixes it uses, its official tracking link, the date the link was last checked, and where the entry came from.

Links are maintained offline, never while you are using the site:

  • Automated link checks. A script opens every active carrier’s tracking link in a headless browser, one request per carrier, and sorts the result: working, dead (the site is gone or returns an error), parked (the domain now shows an unrelated or for-sale page), changed (it lands on a different site), or blocked by a bot check. A bot check is not treated as a dead link, because the page is fine for real visitors.
  • Repeat checks before any change. A problem has to show up in more than one run before an entry is touched.
  • Pausing instead of deleting. A broken carrier is switched off with a written reason and a date, and removed from the site’s pages, sitemap, and detection. The entry is kept so it can be researched and fixed. 17 carriers are paused this way right now.
  • Finding the new link. For paused or changed entries, a research step looks up the carrier’s current official tracking page. A second, separate check tries to disprove each proposed fix before it is applied. A direct link that takes your number is preferred over a landing page.
  • Tests as a gate. Every registry change must pass an automated data check: valid structure, unique entries, no two carriers claiming the same prefix, sane links and dates, and a reason on every paused entry.

This is a process, not a guarantee. Carriers change their websites without warning, and a link can break between checks. If one has, please tell us.

Privacy

We do not ask for an account, and we do not save the numbers you enter in a database. A number can appear briefly in routine server logs before they are rotated. Our privacy policy covers logs, cookies, analytics, and advertising in full.

Report a broken link or suggest a carrier

Found a link that no longer works, a wrong match, or a carrier we are missing? Use our contact page or email [email protected]. Tell us the carrier and, if you can, the page you were on. We cannot see or change the status of any shipment, so for questions about a specific parcel, contact the carrier directly.
